About me

My name is Autumn Granza and I am a student at Marywood University where I major in Communication Arts with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism and minor in English. I aspire to be a professional photo journalist; I want to capture the action as it unfolds.

I did not know what I wanted my profession to be at first. In high school I was given the opportunity to be Editor-in-Chief of my high school newspaper. Through that I learned interviewing and writing skills. I also learned photography and how to take effective photos. So naturally I entered college as a broadcast journalism student but was still not sure if I made the right choice. I fought with myself and it was not until the first article I wrote for The Wood Word was published that I knew this is where I belonged. Now, I am positive that I want to be a photo journalist. I want to be the one covering breaking stories as they happen and photographing it all. Writing and photography have become a passion, not just a hobby.

At Marywood University I am currently the Community Editor of The Wood Word. I spend my nights writing articles and brainstorming picture ideas to go along with the stories. I am extremely grateful that I get to share stories through my effective interviewing and most importantly, my lens.

However, I don't spend all of my time writing articles (okay, most of the time). I love the outdoors; being amongst nature calms me and makes me feel at home. Still life is my favorite type of photography (yes, I bring my camera everywhere). I have also managed to become a freelance photographer, Autumn Breeze Photography
